Destination Imagination

We are very excited to have Destination Imagination again this year at Fruitland Intermediate School! Destination Imagination activities will enhance creative and critical thinking skills, engage students in individual and team problem solving skills, and develop cooperative leadership skills. Our first interest meeting will be on Wednesday, September 20th from 4:00-5:15.  At this session students will participate in an "instant challenge".  At 5:00 we will be conducting a short session for parents on what Destination Imagination is, how your child can benefit from the experience, and how we need your help to make your child's team successful. Parents may arrive earlier than 5:00, but please plan to be there for the parent meeting at 5:00 Parents can take their children home at 5:15.  Children are encouraged to bring a snack

In order to plan and purchase materials for this event, decisions must be made about student involvement. As an after-school program, no bus transportation will be provided. Parents will be responsible for picking up their children promptly at 5:00 in the Media Center or at the front door. The after-school sessions will be held on Wednesdays, once a month from 4:00-5:00, depending on which group your child is in.  Once your child has been assigned a group, a letter will be sent home to let the student know when they need to stay for DI. You will need to send a note in to your child's teacher on the day they are supposed to stay after school, letting the teacher know they are to stay. Your child cannot stay unless a note is provided.  Also, just like last year, DI is required to charge a participation fee.   Please see the letter sent home for the price that your child will need to remit to participate.

Please send the interest form back to school by Friday, September 15th 2017. If you have any questions please contact Ms. Amy Burns ( or Mrs. Kate Wight (
