Pennies for Patients
Pennies for Patients
Help Us Raise Money!

We bring you greetings from the Student Government Association. Again this year we are about to embark on an exciting community service project, "Pennies for Patients". This program benefits the Maryland Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) Student Series Pasta for Pennies to help raise money for leukemia and lymphoma research and patient services.  While we are collecting money to help find cures for blood cancer patients, students also learn about service and leadership.

Students are encouraged to collect and bring in change between January 11th and February 2nd.  By pulling our coins together during this three week period we can help fight the number one killer of children ages 1-14...leukemia.  This is a children helping children project which makes "Pennies for Patients" so unique.

We will be joining thousand of schools nationwide in this effort and every school is a winner. The top fundraising classroom at FIS will be awarded a pasta party at the Olive Garden Italian Restaurant.

An exciting component of this campaign is online fundraising. Help your child forward the special online fundraising link to family members, friends and neighbors, with a personal message in the body of their email.  You can include the easy to follow steps: simply go to Find Your School on, click on our school's name and then click on Join Your School Team.

Students will receive a thank you gift, a special commemorative student series t-shirt, for collecting $50 or more online donations.

Again, the Student Government Association is looking forward to a successful project and we thank you in advance for helping LLS create a world without blood cancers. We know that with your help it will be a great success. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact Mrs. Peggy Dickerson at (410) 677-5805.
